Why Dogs Hate Cats?

Different personalities of dogs and cats could be the reason why these species are often quarrel. Dogs are social creatures are outgoing and love to interact with humans, other dogs and other animals. Dogs can even suffer from separation anxiety when left alone by their owners frequently. Unlike the case with cats, they are very independent, aloof and arrogant. A cat does not matter if they do not get attention from their owners.

By way of a different social life, dogs and cats can be misunderstanding each other from the beginning, although it may initially only intending good dog. For example: When the dog saw a cat, especially if it is your first time seeing a cat, he would rush over to the cat. Dog cat rushing approached with different expectations with cats. Dogs hope to be able to sniff the back of the cat to know him and the cat did not like it.

Different social behavior is when a dog wagging its tail. Wagging tail has different meanings between dogs and cats. For a dog, wags tail like a greeting when socializing that shows feelings of pleasure. For cats, a wagging tail means displeasure and even anger. When the dog approached the cat rushed wagging tail, the cat will interpret it as hostility. Conversely, when the dog saw a cat wags its tail, it will interpret it as a friendship when the cat is showing hostility. When the dog is trying to sniff the cat, the cat will react to the run or attack dogs.

Dogs are friendly and fun so it is not strange that the dog will persuade a cat to play. Usually when a dog will take to play, they have their own body language, that is put in front of the front legs and chest modestly to the ground as such want to lie down but remain above the rear (commonly called "Play Bow").

The attitude of "Play bow" to tell other dogs or other animals that they are well-intentioned and just wanted to invite to play. However, the attitude of "Play Bow" shown by dogs can be misinterpreted by the cat as aggression or threatening. So when the dog will be approached to play, even the cat would run away screaming. If the cat attacked the dog, the dog who had been approached by a friendly, his attitude will change to not like the cat or other cats because of the experience he gets.

Cats may have a reason to hate dogs. Dogs are basically predators. An interesting smell or movement will make the dog jump up and follow the trail of his quarry. Cats can become one of the animals that are considered by the dog to become prey. The dog may also have a reason to hate cats, especially when both animals misunderstand each other from the beginning because of the different way of socializing that makes the dog gets a bad experience about cats.

However, not all dogs and cats hate each other. You are certainly not uncommon to find photos of cats and dogs that are friendly or both lived along in one house. Of course, with good training and early introduction of the owner, they can be a good friend.
