Illustration Figure Interesting to Teach Children How to Interact Safely with Dogs.

Children, especially the young, can not determine how to interact with dogs and other dogs. Let your child pull ear or tail of your own dog can be a disaster when they interact with other dogs, especially those that do not know well.

So, teach your child how to interact with dogs at the house in the right way so you can feel safe when they interact with other dogs.

Here is an illustrative table that can help teach your child what things not to do when interacting with dogs. Even smaller children can understand this illustration table. This table was made by Dr.Sophia Yin, DVM, MS, an animal behaviorist.

Picture to the left is a picture comparison of how humans should interact with each other, well so are almost the same as when we interact with the dog (pictured right).

Figure 1
Left: Avoid taking other people's food
Right: Avoid disturbing the dog while they are eating

Figure 2
Left: Avoid stealing other people's toys
Right: Avoid taking / snatch a toy or bone-reinforcement of dogs

Figure 3
Left: Avoid putting the face right in front of other people's faces.
Right: Avoid putting a face directly in front of the dog's face.

Figure 4
Left: Avoid disturbing when people are asleep
Right: Avoid disturbing the dog while they are resting. Let them lay down to sleep.

Figure 5
Left: Avoid pulling the hair of others.
Right: Avoid attractive tail / ear dog

Figure 6
Left: Avoid climbing someone else's body.
Right: Avoid up the dog's body (such as a rocking horse made, usually young children like to do this)

Figure 7
Left: Avoid pinching the others.
Right: Avoid hugging a dog. Most dogs do not like this. (maybe if your dog is mostly benign or friends is not too problematic, but imagine if your child is also done to other dogs)

Figure 8
Left: Avoid screaming around people.
Right: Avoid yell and shout at the dog. Instead use a lower voice.

Hopefully, the above figures can help your child better understand how best to interact with the pet dog at home and another dog were found outside the home.
