If a man has cancer, diabetes, or epilepsy, then it may be the first dog to know. Research has shown that dogs can be trained to sniff out cancer, breast, lung, bladder skin, and prostate. Researchers speculate that the dog can smell a very faint scent given off by the abnormal cells.
Dogs are also increasingly being used as service animals for people with diabetes. Specially trained dogs can detect the scent of fluctuations (high blood sugar and low acid content) and notify the owner before they have symptoms.

A 2003 study published in The Veterinary Record, have found that humans can be exposed to parasitic roundworm (Toxocara canis) when an infected dog fur stroked. Roundworms grow in the intestines of dogs that can grow in the back of the human eye that can cause blindness. Sometimes roundworms live in the hearts and lungs of man.
Indeed roundworm infection in humans is rare and proper veterinary care can ensure that a dog can be free of roundworms. However, the British veterinarian and author of a study on the New Scientist magazine in 2003 said that health is important for dog owners. How to wash hands thoroughly before eating and after hugging.

After controlling for factors such as body size, the researchers found that aggressive dog breeds live longer quicker and die young. They grow faster, eager-to produce offspring, and also have higher energy needs. These findings indicate that the selective breeding for personality, humans inadvertently tapped traits associated with metabolism and longevity.

For example, in contrast to the Collie dog skull skull Pekingese dog, how different cat with a walrus skull, although still in the family.
All this diversity allows researchers to study how genes work on this dog species, and linking the gene for a particular trait - like what makes Shar-Pei wrinkles and dachshunds are so fat.

9. The ancestors of the Chihuahua is not from Mexico but from the Middle East

Knowledge of the genes scientists have allowed dogs to track the dog's family tree. In March 2010, researchers announced in the journal Nature that the kind of pocket-sized dog once traced his family tree was derived from the Middle East.
Chihuahua, Terrier and the small dog breeds share gene variants with gray wolf Middle East. This shows that the descendants of a small breed dogs come from that area. The findings are in accordance with the archeological evidence that humans and dogs have done a friendship since 12,000 to 13,000 years ago in the Middle East.
